Dr Mohsen Mirzakhani
Mohsen completed his master degree in organic chemistry in 2013 and gained valuable experience as a process development chemist in the pharmaceutical industry (Tehran, Iran). In 2017, he moved to Switzerland to do his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Claude Piguet. His PhD research centred around developing an innovative method to control lanthanide complexation of linear oligomers and polymers. Following his PhD, Mohsen continued as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Geneva, investigating the photophysical characteristics of lanthanidopolymer materials. In May 2023, Mohsen joined the redOx⇌KCL programme, where his current research focuses on developing novel probes based on lanthanide complexes for cellular hypoxia imaging.
