Dr Jie Shen

Jie obtained a medical degree from China Medical University in Shenyang, China, then an MSc degree in Cardiovascular Research at King’s College London. She continued a PhD working with Prof. Ajay Shah at King’s College London working on cardiac metabolism changes in cardiac hypertrophy. Her work specifically focused on exercise-induced physiological remodelling, utilising advanced techniques such as stable isotope tracing and metabolomics. Upon completing her PhD,  Jie joined Dr. Richard Southworth's group as part of the redOxKCL programme. Her current research centres on the characterisation of cardiac hypoxia PET tracers in various cardiovascular disease models.
