Dr Jie Shen
Jie obtained a medical degree from China Medical University in Shenyang, China, then an MSc degree in Cardiovascular Research at King’s College London. She continued a PhD working with Prof. Ajay Shah at King’s College London working on cardiac metabolism changes in cardiac hypertrophy. Her work specifically focused on exercise-induced physiological remodelling, utilising advanced techniques such as stable isotope tracing and metabolomics. Upon completing her PhD, Jie joined Dr. Richard Southworth's group as part of the redOx⇌KCL programme. Her current research centres on the characterisation of cardiac hypoxia PET tracers in various cardiovascular disease models.
