Dr Hannah Bolland
Hannah completed a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology at Loughborough University before going on to study for a M.Med.Sci in Assisted Reproductive Technology at the University of Nottingham. Hannah completed her PhD in Oncology at the University of Nottingham under the supervision of Dr Alan McIntyre investigating the role of RNA helicases in hypoxic colorectal tumour cell survival. Hannah stayed at the University of Nottingham to complete her first postdoctoral role investigating the role of STAT3 signalling in hypoxia, reactive astrocytosis and glioblastoma under the supervision of Dr Sebestien Serres. Hannah joined the University of Oxford redOx⇌KCL grant as a work package 3 postdoctoral researcher in January 2020. Her research interests include hypoxia and the tumour microenvironment, eukaryotic initiation factors and cancer and mRNA translation and components of protein synthesis machinery under stress conditions.
