Dr Daniel Kovacs
Daniel is from Bük, Hungary. He studied chemical engineering at the Budapest University of Technology, and this time he was a trainee for three years at the Servier Research Institute of Medicinal Chemistry (SRIMC). After graduation, he moved to Sweden to do his PhD at Uppsala University under the supervision of Dr. K Eszter Borbas. His PhD research was focused on the development of luminescent lanthanide complexes. In 2018, he did a 3 months exchange in Prof. Polly L Arnold's group at the University of Edinburgh. There he worked with uranyl complexes and examined their photocatalytic C-H bond activation capability. Daniel is on the WP2 together with Deborah and Steve. He is developing new ligands for binuclear/bimetallic lanthanide complexes. In his free time, he enjoys travelling and cycling. He also likes pub games, swimming and kayaking.
